The Structural Steel Package was awarded to PacifiCO by HY, one of the leading Australian Builders. The project was the 4th warehouse done by PacifiCO in Endeavour Court in the ever-growing industrial area of Dandenong South. Project was tendered in November 2021 and awarded to PacifiCO in December 2021; Spencer Group Engineering provided the Structural Design and Watson Young were the Architects on the project. Goodman were the Developers for the project, which comprised of 140 tons of steel and 8,000 mts of purlins. Our in house shop detailing team Draftek provided shop drawings for the job. Shop drawings were completed by end of December for the warehouse and Offices in February 2022. The project had its challenges with full height precast wall splitting the warehouse and the office in 2 parts. Co-ordination between precast and steel, as well as with different trades such as mechanical and civil was seamless. Erection of warehouse steel was done in two halves by SMP Rigging to allow for precast installation in between, with each half of the warehouse taking 8 days to be erected. Office was erected in March 2022 after precast installation and the project was completed by end of April 2022, well within the budget even with the temperamental steel market of 2022. The project was awarded 5-star Green Star design certificate and was done under strict safety constraints required by HY and the structure was peer reviewed and approved by Mott McDonald adhering to the demanding standards of Goodman developers.
